Maria Luisa Ardizzone (Italian Doctoral Degree in Medieval Studies) is professor of Italian Literature at New York University, NY, where she has served as Director of Graduate Studies for more than 10 years. Ardizzone has studied medieval palaeography, literature, history at the University of Palermo and 19th-20th century literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. Her principal areas of interest are the Middle Ages, poetry,intellectual history, antique-medieval philosophy, science and 20th century poetry.
