Alexia Ferracuti is the Director of Inclusive Pedagogy at Vassar College, where she oversees a variety of programming and services that foster equitable teaching and learning practices. In her work, she is interested in supporting intercultural pedagogies, nonviolent communication, contemplative practices, and embodied learning across disciplines.
 
She completed her PhD in 2014 with distinction in the combined degree of Italian and Renaissance Studies. Her dissertation is entitled “The Art of Ambiguity: Mirrors, Mimesis, and Metamorphosis in Italian Renaissance Comedy.” Her research interests include early modern literature, theatre, and visual culture; gender and sexuality in Italian Renaissance and Baroque comedy; female authorship and performance; imitation and mimetic representation; and satire.
