Ann Webb, Ph.D. Student

Ann graduated from Princeton University in 2023 in the French and Italian department with high honors. She was inducted into Gamma Kappa Alpha, the Italian National Honor Society. Ann’s senior thesis was titled “‘Coming Out’ of Sanremo: La Rappresentazione Queer Nella Musica Italiana.” At Yale, Ann hopes to continue investigating the intersections of Queer Theory and Italian Studies, which are limitless. She is specifically interested in queer representation in modern media and literature. Ann is also deeply invested in queer modern reinterpretations of classic material, inspired greatly by a course on representations of Dante in popular culture that she took in her senior year at Princeton.
