Maria Teresa Brolis, after having obtained the title of PhD in medieval history in 1989, collaborated with the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan (where she graduated) and with other Italian and foreign research centers, conducting studies on religious and social life of the XII-XIV centuries, with particular reference to monasticism, hospital assistance, brotherhoods, the status of women and the biographies of women. A book (December 2016, preface by Franco Cardini) a book with the biographies of some women of the Middle Ages. Maria Teresa Brolis, PhD, Medieval History since 1989, is an independent scholar living in Bergamo, Italy. Her publications include around fifty papers and five books.
