One of Italy’s most beloved writers, Dacia Maraini, has worked in a wide range of literary genres, and among her bestsellers are L’età del malessere, La lunga vita di Marianna Ucrìa, and Voci. Her recent works include Chiara di Assisi, Elogio della disobbedienza (2013), the collection of short stories L’amore rubato (2012), and the novels La bambina e il sognatore (2015) and Tre donne (2017). Writing like Breathing, an anthology of Maraini’s work translated into English, some for the first time, was published in 2017.
