Ann DeLauro is the Senior Administrative Assistant for Italian Studies at Yale.  She assists the Department Chair with managing the daily business life of department, while also serving the role of Department Registrar and Assistant to the Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies.   

Ann started her career at Yale University 33 years ago at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. Over the years, she’s advanced to various administrative roles leading to her position in Italian Studies.  Ann’s knowledge and expertise makes for a valuable resource to the faculty, students and visitors.

A motivated and energic younger version, in addition to working full time at Yale, Ann worked various part time jobs. One most rewarding experience is when she owned and operated a flea market stand travelling to various markets and fairs throughout the state, selling new household gadgets, automotive supplies, toys and textiles to the public.

Ann is a proud recipient of the 2020 Working Womens Network award. She is the Vice-President of the Local 34 for central campus. This is the clerical and technical union on Yale’s campus representing over 3000 members.  In addition, Ann is a co-founder for the C&T Training and Development program.

Ann loves spending time with her husband Bruce and their fur babies Diesel and Dually.  She especially enjoys her beach time and taking long rides in their classic cars on hot summer nights.
