Arianna Mazzola earned her degree in Modern Literature at the University of Padova (February 2017), discussing a thesis in Contemporary Italian Literature. She received, also at the University of Padova, her Master’s degree in Modern Philology (October 2019) with a thesis in Contemporary Italian Literature entitled “L’occhio della memoria. Theme, form and knowledge in the novels of Giuseppe Dessì”.

She is currently a PhD student at the Department of Human, Social and Educational Sciences (SUSeF) of the University of Molise. Her interests concern contemporary Italian literature, comparative literature and the theory of literature. In particular, she deals with travel writing, the relationship between literature and science, ecology, literature and pictures, temporality and the study of literary genres. Arianna’s doctoral project concerns odeporic writings and, more specifically, the narrative reportage of Italian writers who travelled to the United States in the 20th century and up to more recent contemporaneity.

She has participated in national and international conferences and her work is being published in Fascia A journals and volumes.
