Francesco Rabissi received his Ph.D in Italian Literature from Yale University in May 2014. His dissertation, completed under the supervision of Professor Millicent Marcus, is entitled Visionary Realism in the New Italian Political Cinema. This work analyzes the connection between the oneiric and the representation of History in contemporary Italian films such as Buongiorno, Notte, The Dreamers, Il Divo, Nuovomondo, and Il Caimano. His research interests include Italian Cinema; Italian Literature; Modern Italian culture and history; Contemporary Italian politics and society; World Cinema.
