Sarah Atkinson, Ph.D. 2023

Sarah Atkinson holds a PhD from the Department of Italian Studies. Her dissertation examines the development of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s “cinema of poetry” by tracing the concept of mediation in his early poetry, prose, and films. She holds a BA from Washington University in St. Louis and MA from the University of Chicago in Italian Literature, as well as an MA and MPhil from Yale University. Her research focuses on 20^th century literature and film, women writers, critical pedagogy, translation studies, the poetics of space, transnational literature, and the philosophy of narration.
