The Department of Italian Studies holds—as a collective ideal—the establishment of a diverse and inclusive community, and the creation of an intellectual and social environment in which all can thrive, regardless of racial, ethnic, cultural, sexual, religious, or national identity. We believe that all students, faculty and staff deserve to perform their roles free from harassment, and will do everything in our power to promote attitudes and practices that will help achieve our goal.
Diversity & Italian Studies
Among the initiatives we cultivate to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in our field, since 2020 the Department of Italian Studies has sponsored the Yale Diversity & Italian Studies Initiative.
