Francesca Micheletti is a PhD student in Italian Studies at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree both in Dante Studies, at the University of Bologna.
Her PhD research focuses on the rhetorical motifs related to painting and visual arts in Medieval Italian Literature, from the Scuola Siciliana to Boccaccio. Her research aims at combining linguistic, rhetorical, and theoretical approaches. The dissertation examines widespread images like the beloved’s face painted inside the lover’s heart, the figures of God and Nature as exceptional painters, the representation of emotions as colours painted on someone’s face and more.
Furthermore, her interests include Medieval Latin and Romance literature and Italian Lexicography.
