Despite some vision challenges, I go on with my research and writing.
A new selection of my poems is about to be published by Fondazione Mario Luzi. It is a bilingual (Italian and English) edition and I am now looking for ways of distributing the book in the English-speaking world.
After a Degree in Classics (Rome, 1974) and a Degree in Philosophy (Rome, 1980), continued his studies in the US, earning a PhD in Italian Literature (Yale, 1990.) Has taught at major academic institutions, such as Emory, Georgetown, and Columbia.
In addition to several articles of literary criticism, semiotics, and linguistics, is the author of the following books: Grecian Vistas: Giacomo Leopardi and Romantic Hellas. 1999; A Companion for Darkness: Classical Twilights in the II Millennium., 2006; The Marble Wave (Poems.) 2014; Dodici camelie per un massacro / Twelve Camelias for a Massacre, (Poems in Italian and English), 2025. Co-translator (with Francesco Rognoni) of PB Shelley’s collected poems ( Opera poetica, Meridiani, 2018.) Co-author of the anthology New York. Rinascimento postmoderno (ed. by Rosa Elisa Giangoia and Franco Zangrilli.,) 2022. His poems have appeared in the literary journals Paragone, MAKE IT NEW!, XENIA, Athanor.
Among his works-in-progress, a new translation of the Pervigilium Veneris and a new version (from Hebrew) of the Book of Qoheleth ( Ecclesiastes.).
