Professor Palma’s research interests focus on Medieval and Renaissance literature. She is the author of Savoring Power, Consuming the Times. The Metaphor of Food in Medieval and Renaissance Italian Literature (Notre Dame UP, 2013), as well as articles on Dante, Viganò, Maraini, and Cervantes among others and contributed to The Dante Encyclopedia (Garland: 2000). The editorial adviser on Luigi Pulci in Literature Criticism from 1400-1800 Gale Literary Criticism Series (Layman Poupard Publishing: 2015), Professor Palma teaches all level of Italian language. She directs the SCSU Summer Program in Montepulciano. A member of the Connecticut Academy of Arts and Sciences, Professor Palma received her Ph.D. from Yale University.
